You know that you’ve fell in love with an anime when you cannot stop refreshing TokyoTosho or Baka-Updates every five minutes or so. Just hoping that yours truly anime torrent would show up.

Claymore is a female warrior, half human and half “youma” (hanjin-hanyou) exist only to kill a beings called “youma” that have become the fear of human. This beings called “youma” can exist within human community and devours human to continue to evolve. Claymore on the other hand with their silvery eyes can see through to the true form of “youma”, and kill them with a large sword as a weapon.

Claymore starts pretty decent for the first two episodes. It follows a story of Clare, one of the Claymore, slaying “youma” for the sake of human. On her duty, a boy named Raki drawn to her and their journey begins as Clare continue her duty while maintaining her human self.

I haven’t read the manga, and I thought that every episode would be boring if there’s only youma slaying and nothing else much. The holy city incident was a good pull, and currently things might change with the Teresa arc. And I don’t even realize that episode five was a flashback (I just thought that it was a different character) until Teresa gave Clare her name.

Only a bit downside is the townsfolk animation. They’re almost alike in every village.

I’m hoping there’s still a lot Claymore details in future episodes. Did they have a half-youma half human skins? And for great justice, why men unable to be a Claymore?
